LIMA, OH and ST CHARLES, IL (Feb. 10, 2010) - Superior Federal Credit Union, located in Lima, OH, announced it is implementing the Cash Caddy™ product in all 9 locations. The Cash Caddy™ product is a reusable plastic container which replaces the use of expensive single-transaction paper drive-thru envelopes.
Superior Federal Credit Union began working with Recy, Inc and its Cash Caddy™ product in late 2009. They were looking for new innovative ideas to "Go Green" and reduce supply costs. The Cash Caddy™ product helped them accomplish both.
The Cash Caddy™ product is made of recyclable plastic and is used by customers in the drive-thru area then replaced back in the tube or VAT system. The container can hold more than 50 US currency bills along with loose change. The product has a unique transaction clip which can be used when a transaction calls for the customer to only get a receipt back. The Cash Caddy™ can also be used as a flat surface for customers to complete a form, sign a check, etc before a transaction begins.
"Although we spend nearly $30,000 a year on drive-thru envelopes, I have never been a big fan of them. I think most members take the cash out and throw the envelope in the trash or on the floor of their car, making them a waste of money for us and a waste of paper for our members. So when I heard about the Cash Caddy, I thought I would test it out" Said Kurt Neeper, Marketing Director, Superior Federal Credit Union. "We rolled the Cash Caddy out first at one of our suburban offices, then to several more, and finally to all nine of our offices. At no time did any of our members complain about the change. And while we have only been using them for three months, I believe we can convert completely to the Cash Caddy at a tenth of our annual cost for drive-thru envelopes!"
